Generally, I tend to stick with trails around Frederick County, Maryland for my regular hiking. Frederick County has great moutain parks and the Appalachian trail which is usually enough to keep me entertained hiking wise. But today was different. I have been meaning to head out towards Baltimore to do some hiking. For one, it is new to me. There is no feeling in the world like heading down a trail where I don’t know what lies around the next bend in the trail!
This was a lovely December day with temps into the low 50’s and sunshine all day. I completed the “Switchback Trail” which winds its way along the river (creek?). A wonderful hike except for the gun club down the road. As Pauli and I neared the end of the hike the noise of guns going off stressed her out a bit. I would not recommend taking a dog along on this hike unless they are used to gun fire!
