AT – GA Day 6 Slaughter Creek to Neels Gap 6/5/13

Neels Gap, 3 miles, Hostel

*****

Hiked over Blood Mountain today!  No views as it was a foggy morning…but it was so cool in the fog.  The hike down into Neels Gap was NOT BAD!  I was prepared for a terrible descent after reading so many websites…but seriously…it is not that bad for me!

Low Rider left us for a few days.  If it is raining tomorrow (storming right now) we will hike 11.5 miles to Low Gap Shelter.  We will probably do this anyway as their are active bears in this area and the ridge runners advice was to get to the shelter.

Low Rider and Dennice took us out to FATS to eat.  I paid for Dennice and Google paid for Low Rider because they have done so much for us!

The hostel has been fun!  Met Art from Illinois, and a grandfather/grandson team.  Grandson has the trail name “Dances with Mice” which he is not particularly fond of … I told him he could have “BoobOnARock”…

I am ready to continue my trek!

About BoobOnARock

Hiking, the woods, books, my son, my cats and dogs, math, hanging with my sweetie and making fires. what else is there? oh yeah, falling in the woods every once in a while...it is a talent of mine.
